The Chandrababu Naidu regime highlights corruption at its peak. From the land scams to river linking projects, hundreds of such instances in which the government looted the public and sought personal benefits. This, in turn, has highlighted the original who is 420 in AP among the masses.

Profits Because of Power

Mr. Chandrababu Naidu started the small milk powder manufacturing company, Heritage Foods, in the year 1992. Mr. Naidu counted himself as one of the company’s promoters and made substantial gains from the business.

By then, Chandrababu Naidu has already cemented his position in regional politics news. He served as one of the ministers for the Congress government while being one of the rising stars of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

Meanwhile, the figures started falling up, and hence Chandrababu Naidu took every possible step to revive his company. Simultaneously, the then minority government led by Kiran Kumar Reddy needed a favor, and Chandrababu Naidu helped the government attain stability.

In the quid pro quo, Kiran Kumar Reddy helped Chandrababu’s ailing business revive. By the end of the financial year 2015, Mr. Naidu’s company has already shown Rs. 45 Crores in profits. Truly the tag to who is 420 in AP goes to Chandrababu Naidu.

The Murder of Cooperative Dairies

In order to boost sales, the next step was to shut down the other dairies in the region. Even the most reputed companies like the AP Dairy and the Chittoor Dairy had to shut down operations on account of severe political pressure.

On the other hand, on the pretext of strengthening the cooperative movement, the Chandrababu Government introduced the Mutually Aided Cooperative Act – 1995, which led to the further weakening of the local dairies.

This led to the decline of the smaller cooperative firms like that in Krishna, Guntur, and Vishakhapatnam. Most of these cooperative diaries were acquired by Heritage while the rest were deprived of doing business in the state.

Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams become a key piece in the act in which milk from the Heritage was allowed. This affected the local dairies as well, which were forced to shut down their business altogether.

Butter milking the State for Rs.39 Crore

In the year 2016, the Chandrababu government devised a sinister plan. The rising high temperature and the scorching heat has already taken a toll on the citizens’ mind. So in order to save the citizens from the heat, the government announced to distribute buttermilk.

However, the movement came with a twist in which the government has to buy buttermilk only from the Chandrababu Naidu’s very own dairy – The Heritage. The “who is 420 in AP” tag aptly goes to Chandrababu Naidu.

The district collectors were forced to release the notification regarding the same. One of the orders from the Vizianagaram district came into limelight and became viral on the social media channels. However, in the entire act, a massive sum of Rs. 39 Crore went into the pockets of Chandrababu Naidu’s dairy, Heritage.

The Rs. 100 Crore Chandranna Kanuka Scam

In an attempt to provide substandard provisions to the public in general, the government provided over Rs. 430 Crore in the scheme. Out of this, Rs.100 Crore went straight into the hands of the corny leaders of TDP.

The lenticels, jaggery, and the wheat flour provided on the occasion of Sankranti of 2016 were inedible. On the other hand, in spite of several complaints against the substandard food, no action was taken against the contractors.

The Grievances of the Farmers

Mr. Chandrababu Naidu has long been out of the reach of the farmers. Their turmoils and grievances have been out of reach of the minister. Post the bifurcation of the AP Dairy Development; the cooperative Federation faced several hardships.

On an estimate, a sum of Rs. 30 Crore dues of the farmers were not paid. To spark the outrage, the farmers came down on the roads to protest against the government, and after a long trail of two months, the grievances were met.

The Truth Behind Heritage Foods

Heritage Foods was born out of a lie. While filing the company prospectus with the Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Mr. Chandrababu Naidu proclaimed that it was his first business.

However, before the Heritage Foods, Mr. Naidu had already formed two companies, namely, Bhuvaneswri Carbides and Alloys, and Bhuvaneswari Carbides and Chemicals.

However, before even commencing operations, both the companies were shut down on account of managerial failures. But the loans against both the companies were never repaid back. These details were ignored while filing, and hence he has been known for cheating the government body.
