Everyone knows that during the reign of Chandrababu Naidu as a CM of Andhra Pradesh was marred by corruption. Every project – meant for the development of people –was just an excuse for looting the public money. It is not the accusation that the media or opposition is throwing at Chandrababu Naidu. Several organizations like CAG had termed the Chandrababu Naidu -who is 420 in AP for obvious reasons- government as the most corrupt one. While the Chandrababu Naidu himself and his ministers were busy filling their coffers, there was one honest man who stood up against him. It was the Former Chief Secretary AjeyaKallam.
In India, it is not easy for any civil servant to stand-up and question the establishment let alone question the government on misappropriation of public money. But, AjeyaKallamis one of the few who dared to question the corrupt ways of Chandrababu Naidu – former CM and 420 in AP. He has given enough evidence that concluded that Chandrababu Naidu was a corrupt ruler who looted crores of public money in the name of development. There is no doubt that Naidu’s name comes up every time anyone asks who is 420 in AP.
Who is AjeyaKallam
AjeyaKallam is a former Chief Secretary who served during the Chandrababu Naidu’s reign. He has an extensive year of experience in administration and he was a part of AP government when Chandrababu Naidu was the chief minister of the state. He was also someone who has seen corruption thriving in the state due to Chandrababu Naidu. He has witnessed how Amravati was chosen for building the state capital, but was actually a pet real estate project of the Chandrababu Naidu. He had also witnessed how Chandrababu Naidu who is 420 in AP – turned every opportunity to fill his pocket with the bribe money.
He later released a book named “MeluKolupu”, which means ‘the awakening call’.In his book, he talks about the exploitation of the state in the hands of corrupt politicians like Chandrababu Naidu. He requests the youth and the intellectual of the state to stand-up to the establishment and question the Chandrababu Naidu’s acts of corruption. It is obvious that if anyone asked who is 420 in AP, the answer will always be Chandrababu Naidu.
It was not a surprise that the TDP and its leader Chandrababu Naidu lost the 2019 election miserably. He was definitely punished by the people for corruption, for making false promises, for hurting the sentiments of the people, and for taking their trust for granted.
Questioning the Establishment on Various Decisions
When you are in the service, you can only make suggestion and advice the government. And, that’s exactly what AjeyaKallamdid when he tried to persuade the CM not to misuse the money meant for the development of the state. He wrote objections on the filesof the proposals. As predicted, the words of an honest public servant were ignored by Chandrababu Naidu – who is 420 in AP as it is already established. He did what he could while being employed by the government. It was only after leaving the service that he could speak more freely. Instead of taking post-retirement positions offered to him by the Chandrababu Naidu, he went on to write a book and spread awareness among the people.
In his book, interviews, speeches and meetings AjeyaKallam pointed out many important points. He mentions how he flayed the embezzlement proposals when it came to his desk. Furthermore, he says how the Chandrababu Naidu was not only looting the public money, he was making Andhra Pradesh like an ATM for his family and people related to his party by fielding their heirs. Everyone knows how Chandrababu Naidu wanted his son, Nara Lokesh, as the leader of the party. No doubt he thought he was creating a source of never-ending flow of money for his family & friends. Through his books and interviews and speeches, AjeyaKallam wanted the youth to question the establishment and stand up against the blatant corruption done by Chandrababu Naidu, who is 420 in AP without any doubt.
As a part of the government, AjeyaKallam was witness to corruption by the TDP leader. He said how the tentacles of corruption has reached every part of the system. He said how the system was so rotten that no work could be done without paying a bribe. More than 40% of the funds allocate for the irrigation projects were misused in a very shameful way. For instance, out the Rs. 50,000 crorefunds that were allocated for irrigation projects, Rs. 20,000 croreswere stolen by the Chandrababu Naidu govt and his cronies. AjeyaKallam cites many exampled of how the money was misused on every level.
- In one instance, Rs. 1 crore was accolated for a tank in a village in West Godavari district. A TDP leader who undertook the contract merely dug up the topsoil and sold it for Rs. 60 lakhs.
- In another example, one-third of the Rs. 20,000 crore of employment guarantee scheme funds has been misused.
- Chandrababu Naidu’s cronies bought 5 lakh cell phones at the price of Rs. 7,500 per piece, when the actual market price was Rs. 4,000 in the market.
- In the name of IT, land worth Rs. 400 crore were given to the Franklin Templeton for mere Rs. 13 crore.
Chandrababu Naidu – who is 420 in AP as people already know – made excuses for his corruption. He blamed the struggle against the central government, struggle to develop the state, his political rivals news, the Andhra pride and so many things.
This is just a tip of the iceberg of corruption by the Chandrababu Naidu government. It was the voice of an honest public servant who raised his voice when he was in the service as well as when was retired. Now you know who is 420 in AP.
